Exum Mountain Guides

I had a killer first day ever rock climbing w Evan from Exum. When I first called in and told them what I was looking for, they walked me through my options and made recommendations. The whole process was very easy. Evan is an awesome teacher. He was super flexible regarding catering the time to what I was looking for. Honestly, I think I got more out of the day than I even expected to. He was great with calmly patiently walking me through places where I got stuck. He was encouraging and gave phenomenal feedback. His teaching style seems like he can be as general or as detailed as I needed him to be. Next time I want a guide for anything, Exum, and specifically Evan is where I'll be starting.

We had an incredible experience with Exum and our guide Matt. Neither my wife or I have done any technical rock climbing, either indoors or outdoors. We had the 4 day private climb of the Grand. The first two days we trained on bouldering and climbing technique, rope management, knots, and rappelling both by Teton Village and by Hidden Falls. Day three we climbed to the lower saddle and day four we pushed to the summit via the Exum Ridge with sunrise while we were on the Friction Pitch. It was truly a marvelous experience from start to finish! Special recognition to Matt - he’s climbed the Grand over 200 times. He taught fundamental climbing principles, not just how to get to the top. It was clear that he was gauging our ability and making sure that we were safe at all stages of our experience. We had a few moments where we were a bit nervous about exposure and whether we were up to it, but Matt’s confidence was very reassuring. His knowledge of the trail and climb was unbelievable - seeming to know every pebble and every twist in the trail. He is clearly a master of his craft and an outstanding guide. If you are interested in climbing the Grand, don’t think twice about going with the team at Exum!

My friend and I did the 4 day private guided tour of The Grand. What a truly unforgettable experience. Have to say thank you to my guide, Zayne. He was extremely educational, intelligent, a pleasure to get to know. Cannot say enough good things about him and Exum. Will certainly be looking to work with Zayne in the future on our next project!

EXTRAORDINARY experience with Exum! The 4 days we spent with our guides Colin and Noah were truly the adventure and experience of a lifetime. Our group of 4 trained for and climbed the Grand Teton over 4 days and will certainly be back to explore with Exum again. From the initial communication with the office through the hike down and ride back each member of the Exum team was delightful - eager to help, share knowledge and ensure our preparedness for the climb. Colin and Noah in particular made the trip. They both seemed genuinely invested in our adventure and worked tirelessly during our training days and climbing days to give us the best experiences possible. They both have such a deep knowledge of GTNP and shared their expertise openly. I most appreciated the generosity of their spirits - It is clear they love what they do and they personalized a trip they've both done countless times to make it unique and memorable for us. I am already looking forward to our next trip with Exum & can't recommend Colin and Noah highly enough!

Cannot thank Exum enough for a great few days exploring and climbing. My wife and I just completed a 2 day Grand Teton program with a couple of training/climbing days in advance. Joel, Evan and Brendan (Bdan) were amazingly professional, personable and fun to spend a few days with exploring the upper elevations of the park. Nothing but superlatives. Despite not being able to summit, (due to weather/ice) they made it fun and still bagged the west summit just 500 feet shy of the 13,770'. Thank you for the memories they will last a lifetime! We look forward to seeing you all next climbing season!
