A few friends and I booked with Golden State guiding to do a half day of climbing in Joshua tree. Everything from start to finish was great. Ryan was responsive and accommodating via email and our guide, Chad, was excellent and knowledgeable. I look forward to using their services again and highly recommend them.
Took the split boarding 101! Great course and initial exposure to split boarding and backcountry. Really grateful for the great leads and time & Knowledge they spent with us. I will definitely be taking courses with GSG in the future!
The most comprehensive course I have taken on Trad Climbing technique and safety. Matt Lappin was an amazing teacher and was able to fit in a lot of climbing in addition to skills training. Would recommend this over any other course available if you want to learn all the skills necessary to get on rock.
The Sierra Split board program / AIARE 1 course exceeded all expectations! From start to finish, the program was professional, informative, and above all, fun. Our Instructors & guides Trevor, Emily, Sammy, & Ben were top notch. They were incredibly knowledgeable, not only about the technical aspects of split boarding but also about backcountry safety, terrain, and snow conditions. They tailored the experience to our group's skill level and helped each of us build confidence with personalized tips and guidance while getting us out of our comfort zone. Even with the below average snowpack this year the guides knew exactly where to take us to find the untracked areas. This was a great course that prepared us to plan, travel, & safely navigate the backcountry in the future. Will definitely be looking into joining one of the Shasta trips this spring!
Matt, was awesome. Felt safe the entire time answered all my questions. Give my boy a raise please. And Ryan was also great communicated everything that I needed to do before heading up the mountain.
