WHERE DO I BEGIN?!? SMM has created a magical unicorn of an experience for women seeking more than just an adventure. The thought that has gone into these trips to pull down boundaries and create moments of fairy dust is chefs kiss!! I spend most of my life “in the industry” and it has a tendency to create exclusivity and elitism whereas SMM is there to wrap each participant into an inclusive hug. SO GO AND DO THIS oh and don’t forget to tip your guides because they are amazing!!

I took the Intro to Outdoor Climbing with Rosa and had the best experience! This was my first time signing up for anything like this and had no prior experience with outdoor climbing. I left feeling confident and met a great group of women in the process. Couldn’t recommend this class enough!

An incredible organization with incredible people. I was out in Mexico with SMM In February 2022 and had a blast meeting folks who I still talk to and climb with today, and I left inspired by everything that Lizzy has done with the group. This is a radical group that puts its money where its mouth is - they hire diverse and experienced and knowledgeable and FUN guides, and give those guides opportunities to lead and grow that I haven't seen in any other guiding program since. They have scholarships and pay-what-you-can programs, increasing access and breaking down barriers for folks for whom climbing isn't welcoming (pretty much anyone who isn't a cis-white man). I think of my time in El Potrero Chico fondly and have raved about this group since. If you are even thinking about going on one of their trips, just go. It'll be worth it.

I signed up for the Joshua Tree Climb and Yoga retreat and it was the best decision I ever made. It really propelled my love for outdoor climbing and all of the guides made it comfortable and easy to learn better techniques, better belay techniques and how to have fun in a safe manner. From there, I went on to climb in the Dolomites and ice climb in Canmore with SMM. Every participant on the trip seemed to have the same goals and everyone had the same mindset when it came to climbing: try your best and have fun. What is nice is the structure is outlined but they are always open to modify if someone wants to do a more difficult climb versus something more calm. I highly recommend climbing with SMM-- I haven't gone with any other guides or companies on the same caliber and professionalism as them.

SMM is THE reason why I fell in love with outdoor climbing. I attended their Smith Rock retreat in April 2022 and made friends and climbing partners for life.
