The starting point for Aconcagua climbers, Plaza de Mulas is a well-equipped base camp situated at 4350 meters above sea level. It serves as the launchpad for the ascent.

Located at 5000 meters, Camp 1 (Canada) is the first acclimatization stop on the Normal Route. It offers some shelter and is a good place to adjust to higher altitudes.

The guides are excellent people and they supported us and taught us about the mountain and the importance of good acclimatization. Acclimatizing in Vallecitos and not in Aconcagua is more comfortable and a plus, since you can see another different side of the mountain.

Soy Uri y fui desde España. 5 estrellas me parecen pocas para poder expresar lo que he vivido y he sentido en esta expedición. Si estás pensando en explorar montañas en Sudamérica o cualquier parte del mundo, Aconcagua Star es la respuesta.
Arkaitz, "el Vasco" como lo conoce todo el mundo, Pablo y todo el equipo viven y sienten la montaña los 365 días del año, es su estilo de vida y eso marca la diferencia cuando se ponen al frente de una expedición. Dejas de ser un cliente para ser un integrante de una expedición y sientes su lema como propio. El lema es "One Team, one Dream".
Técnicamente son excelentes y como personas te diré que son FAMILIA. Y cuando te enfrentas a un reto como subir una montaña por encima de los 6000 metros, quieres tener contigo a los mejores técnicamente y sobre todo a PERSONAS, así en mayúsculas, que te cuidan, te ayudan y te hacen sentir seguro y confiado.
Mi experiencia con ellos es la mejor que he tenido en una expedición. La seguridad, el cuidado de las personas, el respeto por la montaña, saber ver las necesidades de cada miembro de la expedición, los momentos, charlas y risas compartidas, la planificación y cuidado de la alimentación, los conocimientos, convertir un grupo de personas en un equipo cohesionado, un plan de aclimatación excelente, la superación personal y grupal, .... son algunas de las cosas que han sucedido durante esta increíble expedición.
Mi recomendación: antes de embarcarte en cualquier expedición, habla con El Vasco y/o con Pablo y mira a ver qué te sucede y qué sientes. Te puedo asegurar por mi experiencia con ellos (y habiendo tenido otras experiencias en el mismo lugar con otras personas y empresas) que Aconcagua Star marca la diferencia y muy grande respecto a todo lo demás.

I'm Uri and I went from Spain. 5 stars seem insufficient to express what I have experienced and felt on this expedition. If you are thinking of exploring mountains in South America or anywhere in the world, Aconcagua Star is the answer.
Arkaitz, "the Basque" as everyone knows him, Pablo and the entire team live and feel the mountains 365 days a year, it is their lifestyle and that makes the difference when they lead an expedition. You stop being a client to be a member of an expedition and feel its motto as your own. The motto is "One Team, one Dream".
Technically they are excellent and as people I will tell you that they are FAMILY. And when you face a challenge like climbing a mountain above 6000 meters, you want to have with you the best technically and above all PEOPLE, in capital letters, who take care of you, help you and make you feel safe and confident.
My experience with them is the best I have had on an expedition. Safety, caring for people, respect for the mountains, knowing how to see the needs of each member of the expedition, shared moments, talks and laughter, planning and caring for food, knowledge, turning a group of people into a cohesive team, an excellent acclimatization plan, personal and group improvement, .... are some of the things that have happened during this incredible expedition.
My recommendation: before embarking on any expedition, talk to El Vasco and/or Pablo and see what happens to you and what you feel. I can assure you from my experience with them (and having had other experiences in the same place with other people and companies) that Aconcagua Star makes a big difference compared to everything else.

Soy Cris de México, tengo 46 años, mi experiencia ha sido muy grata y asombrosa, el equipo se cercioró de que previamente haya tenido cierto nivel de condición física y experiencia ya que es esencial para irse adaptando a las etapas de aclimatación que ya tienen definido en base a su experiencia, me gusta que informen los tiempos aproximados ya que no siempre se puede hacer cumbre en la fecha establecida pues ellos tienen conocimiento de guiarse ante los cambios climáticos los días para ascensos y descensos. Gracias por cuidarnos a todas las personas que fuimos las últimas semanas de enero 2025 y ayudarnos a cumplir este gran sueño.

I am Cris from Mexico, I am 46 years old, my experience has been very pleasant and amazing, the team made sure that I had previously had a certain level of physical condition and experience since it is essential to adapt to the acclimatization stages that they have already defined based on their experience, I like that they inform the approximate times since it is not always possible to reach the summit on the established date since they have knowledge of guiding themselves in the face of climatic changes on the days for ascents and descents. Thank you for taking care of all the people who were there in the last weeks of January 2025 and helping us fulfill this great dream.

Australian climber - I climbed with Aconcagua Star in January 2025 and I was able to summit Aconcagua with them. They are truly a first-class team with deep knowledge of the mountain and a fantastic acclimitization and climbing strategy that maximizes the chance of success. I would highly recommend them.
