I recently completed the Mountain Experience Course with Alpine Guides in Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park and cannot speak highly enough of my experience. The course exceeded all expectations, offering a comprehensive and engaging introduction to mountaineering skills. The course was incredibly well-rounded for an introductory course, covering a diverse range of essential techniques including ice climbing, avalanche safety, search and rescue procedures, ice traversing, and shelter building. The highlight was undoubtedly the overnight camp on a glacier, followed by two nights near the summit of Mount Brown, where we honed our skills in a truly awe-inspiring environment. Our guide, Scott, was exceptional. His passion for the outdoors, coupled with his extensive knowledge and infectious energy, made the entire experience truly memorable. Scott's dedication to teaching and his ability to create a fun and supportive learning environment were truly commendable. Furthermore, the quality of the food provided throughout the course was exceptional. Scott consistently prepared delicious and nutritious meals, often surpassing my expectations for meals eaten in the mountains. I cannot recommend Alpine Guides enough to anyone considering a taste of or looking to continue to develop their mountaineering skills, whether it's through their courses or private day hikes. Their professionalism, expertise, and commitment to providing an exceptional experience are truly unparalleled.

We did the overnight Plateau Hut trip to celebrate a 60th birthday and it was simply the best birthday ever. An incredible trip, staying under Mt Cook and Mt Tasman, surrounded by New Zealand's highest peaks. Tai was a fantastic guide, and took us walking and climbing in the area. Just the most special place to stay. Can't recommend the trip, and Alpine Guides highly enough.

We are just back from a fantastic 4 day Hochstetter Dome adventure with Jamie from Alpine guides. An exceptional otherworldly experience only accessible to us by having a guide. Exciting chopper ride into Tasman Saddle and 3 days perfect weather for climbing and exploring. Definitely worth the money for a lifetime experience. Very safe and professional guiding. 5 stars!

Today was a day we’ll never forget after doing the Heli Glazier Hike Tour. The beauty of where we were completely spoke for it self, it was utter magic, However I did want to express our gratitude for our fantastic guide Scott, what a wonderful guy, so incredibly experienced, so calm, so clear, so understanding. I doubt we’ll ever have a guide like him again. His took us through his day office with such ease and the utter enjoyment was all ours. We wish Scott all the best with his tours and everyone he meets, and hope that one day soon he gets to live his dream of guiding our less abled friends through magic places like we were so very lucky to do today. Thank you!

Our trip to Plateau Hut in December 2022 with Jamie Robertson was incredible! His experience as a mountain guide is remarkable and he is an excellent teacher. Jamie and the team at Alpine Guides were extremely helpful, courteous and motivated. Thank you again for the awesome trip!
