Himalayan Frozen Adventure

We had a great 3 day trek to Poon Hill with Govinder as our guide and Loki as our porter. They both were professional, helpful and friendly. They gave us a lot of local information as we trekked and took us to really good lunch places on the way. The morning hike to see the sunrise was absolutely incredible with stunning views. Some sections of the hike were really steep but they were both patient and encouraging through the trek. The guest house accommodation was basic but service was fine. Would recommend booking treks with them.

I chose Mardi Himal Trek (6days actually trekking) as it was long enough to really experience the Himalayas while short enough not to scare off my wife from joining me! Our flight into Kathmandu was delayed and we arrived at 3am. This is when we first met Govinda in person. Arriving in a strange place and being greeted was a great start. I had been communicating with Govinda for several months and he was always very responsive and answered all my questions. Govinda was our guide for the whole trip and he was excellent. He took care of us and also gave us a lot of great information about the region. I was surprised by how young he is but that did not hold him back. A little soft spoken but once you get to know him very conversational. Some of the other travellers we met along the way would also lean on our guide for information. Govinda introduced us to Lokhindra (Loki to us) as our porter. Loki always had a smile and would also ensure we were ok. The trek itself was amazing with breathtaking views of Annapurna South Face and the “fishtail”. Govinda would get us checked into a guesthouse each night and ensure we were well fed. Only feedback I gave Govinda was to change the Elegant hotel we stayed at in Pokhara as it had some cleanliness issues. Also, if you are going to Pokhara then it is advisable to fly and they should provide this option as an extra. All in all it was an excellent experience and met all of our expectations. Arun & Sonia

As with any mountain journey, fortune is a major factor. In my opinion, luck consists of two main elements: the guide and the weather. In these two areas, we were extremely successful. The weather was always in our favor; it was sunny throughout the peak ascent and snowy during the descent. Our guide, Ramit, kept us going when we were having trouble and kept us amused with his tales when we were relaxing. Ramit is a fantastic guide, and he works well as a team with the potters and assistant guide. We always had the impression that we were in good care and safe. The group of trekkers consisted of my spouse, my two boys (20 and 13 years old), and my friend's family, who had two boys (20 and 16 years old) apiece. Our journey was exhausting but amazing; it tested everyone of us but also brought us happiness. Each of us will carry the memories of the journey, the suffering of the hike, and the joy of arriving at ABC Trekking for a very long time. We sincerely appreciate the Himalayan Frozen Adventure Team's management of our greatest hiking and achievement.

I had the best guide and porter I could ever had wished for. Govinda, my guide, was very service minded, supportive, and understanding during the trekking. Dhal, the porter, was also very supportive and understanding. They were both very attentive and helpful. With Govinda, it was possible to discuss the area’s history, geography, socio- cultural aspects and the life worlds of the local populations. He also had advice when I felt a bit insecure about aspects related to the high altitude. They were with other words good trekking companions!
