Himalayan Wonders

We were well supported with great help and advice from Latisha, with all the arrangements and planning, being met at the hotel and having the pre-trek briefing with Pemba and others, and during the trek from start to finish. We appreciated having tips about having snacks/favourite protein bars, we did follow that advice and were glad we took the supplies. We had good weather - all the accommodation was fine and we definitely ate well! Ram who was our guide and Garba were the best, they looked after us completely. They were conscientious and kept us informed about plans, and were always helpful and positive/encouraging on the trek - and we really enjoyed their company. We also enjoyed the farewell dinner with Pemba, a nice way to finish the experience.

I was nervous engaging Himalayan Wonders at first and used the reviews on this site as reassurance. Kathmandu had suffered severe flooding the day before I arrived in October. It led to difficulty getting to Lukla airport and chaotic scenes at the airport in Kathmandu. It was here at this point and then again at the end when I was stranded in Lukla trying to get back that the company came into its own. I put my faith in them and they go me there and back on helicopters. It cost me more but was well worth it. If you know Nepal you know it can be tricky to navigate without support. The trip itself was spectacular. We had amazing weather and views which helped and was always looked after at each tea house and by my guide Funuru and porter Tambr. It was a tough trek to EBC and then climb of Island Peak but so worth it. I couldn’t have done it without Funuru and felt safe and supported all the way. If I can I’ll definitely return to do Mera Peak with Himalayan Wonders.

I recently returned from the 17 day EBC and Gokyo Lake trek. AMAZING trip! My guide Pasang was great. He paced the challenging days so well! I was a 57 year old, female, solo traveler, good pacing was a benefit. I chose the accommodations upgrade which was incredible. I was had showers and electricity at the lower elevations! Plus some great meals. The pre trip communications and arrival information was great. Pasang along with his knowledge of the region and the trek made for some life long memories. He knew when we should leave in the mornings to avoid crowds and the timing of our arrival to EBC was perfect. I knew that my safety was a priority to him. I highly recommend Himalayn Wonders! And the accommodation upgrade!

I am a medical specialist and raising funds for medical simulator centre. Being in the late 60's, inherently risk averse with some mountain trekking experience, I did my due diligence and reviewed many EBC trekking providers. Requirement: meets my schedule, affordable, reliable and with safe track record. Himalayan Wonders (HW) met my criteria and didn't let me down. I successful completed my trek in November 2024. I was in a group of 9, 7 from the USA, 1 from NZ and myself from Australia. We had 2 guides, one head guide Bim Sen, an assistant guide Garba and many sherpas. Although I was slightly slower than the main group, Bim and a sherpa Sherdev were constantly by my side, ensuring that there were no issues and that I completed the trek safely without pressurising me. Debriefing and communication was excellent, we were kept informed of next day's itinerary every evening at dinner. Although a challenging and demanding trek it was made that much easier by the professionalism of the team at HW. The ground staff at Kathmandu, Pemba and Avinash, gave us a befitting farewell dinner on our last night in Nepal and presented us with Certificates of Completion. Overall it was an excellent experience, worth all the efforts and definitely will recommend HW if you are planning one.
