Himganga Treks And Expedition

We did a trekking to Kanchenjunga basecamp. Our guide Dorchi arranged everything perfectly for us. Some guesthouses weren't normally open at this time, but there was somebody there just for us. Dorchi has a lot of experience trekking with groups and can tell you wat to do or what not to do. We adjusted our plans according to the situation (rain, exhaustion, altitude sickness). It was really valuable to have him with us. We would surely book again with him.

I first met Dorchee from Him Ganga Treks in 2012. We booked the Ascension of Mera Peak and Island Peak through a French agency. Arriving in Kathmandu, Dorchee was the lead Sherpa, organizing the camps, the cooking crew, the porters as well as the ascension to the peaks. Through him we not only experienced a safe and memorable ascension of the peaks, but we also visited secluded small Buddhist monasteries far from the tourist routes. Our experience was so incredibly good with him, that I came back two years later with my friend and and we asked directly Dorchee to organise the entire trip for us in the Anapurna region. We had so much confidence that we actually paid him partially in advance. He took us to places near the Tibetan border that we would never have discovered without him. It was once more an experience of a lifetime. I will come back one day and there is no doubt that I will ask Dorchee and Him Ganga treks to organize our journey.

Trekking the foothills of the Himalayas was an incredibly powerful adventure. It was also the most physically demanding experience of my life. Dorchi, our sherpa, was the perfect man for the job. He spoke respectable English, knows the mountains well, he was very patient, kind, and helpful. Dorchi picked out good lodging for our overnight rest, knew where to eat and where to stop for tea along the path. He was always accommodating without being intrusive- allowing us to experience the awe of the journey for ourselves. As we encountered other sherpas leading groups, they always spoke to Dorchi as someone they well admired... and I understand why. If I ever return to Nepal, I will ask Dorchi to be my guide once again.
