I had a fantastic experience ice climbing in Bozeman! My guide Ryan was terrific! I learned an unbelievable amount during the 2 day course. Ryan provided invaluable information on gear, technique, and anchor building in a way that was easy to understand and translate to climbing. We all had a blast, a perfect balance between seriousness and fun. I will definitely be back next year to dabble in mixed climbing. The mountains are stunning and the ice we climbed was awesome! Can’t recommend enough. Thank you Ryan!

The Montana Alpine Guides (MAG) is an excellent organization. Right from the time I first looked them up for an Ice Climbing instructional course over their web page to emails while setting the trip up to the two day ice climbing trip itself, they have been excellent. they were very helpful on the emails (Genevieve) and our guide, Ryan Griffiths, was not only an excellent climber himself but also a very thoughtful and safe guide. He gave very good instruction and paid particular attention to our specific areas that needed rectification. I really enjoyed my experience and would recommend them any time.

I had an awesome three days climbing with Montana Alpine Guides in Hyalite Canyon With Tom and Adam. It was nice to get a chance to explore several areas in the canyon. I would highly recommend this service for anyone from beginners to more advanced climbers.

I did a Women’s Ice Climbing Clinic with Lindsay Fixmer, and we spent two days climbing in Hyalite. I’ve done a couple courses with ice guides and Lindsay is absolutely top tier. I learned so much from her and her ability to explain and coach thru different technique challenges and tips. She was clearly committed to making sure everyone got to accomplish their goals. I also believe MAG’s communication is far superior to other guiding companies. I received plenty of info on what to expect for the trip, even some tips on staying warm in the 0F weather, and Lindsay sent a text to double check we all had the info we needed about a week prior to the clinic. I would book with MAG again in a heartbeat and encourage everyone to request Lindsay!

I had a chance to spend three days climbing with Montana Alpine Guides and had an awesome experience. We spent the first day at the G1 wall and then the next two days exploring some other areas in the canyon. Thomas and Adam were awesome. I would highly recommend this for anyone from beginning climbers to experience climbers.
