Peru Ultimate Expedition

We had the privilege of enjoying a two-day horseback riding adventure, and we were absolutely fascinated! From start to finish, the experience was flawlessly organized. From the pick-up at our hotel to the journey itself, the activities, the meals, the authentic visit to a Peruvian family, and the return to our accommodation – every detail was thoughtfully arranged. We went on this adventure as a couple, accompanied by our guide and the owner of the horses. On the first day, we spent around 6-8 hours riding, while the second day consisted of a half-day ride. The horses were exceptionally well-trained, incredibly surefooted, and very trustworthy. Our guide spoke excellent English, explained everything in great detail, and was in constant communication with us to ensure we felt comfortable and well cared for at all times. The ride itself was beyond magical – it offered us so much. We experienced Peru’s breathtaking landscapes, from lush vegetation and serene nature to awe-inspiring canyons, open plains, and even challenging trails along steep cliffs. It’s worth mentioning that we are advanced riders, and the horses were perfectly trained to handle all terrains with ease. However, it’s important to prepare for the altitude – acclimatization is key to fully enjoying this experience. The meals and refreshments were exceptional. We made short breaks along the way, as a packhorse carried our heavier gear and provisions. Thanks to this, we always had plenty of food and water available, ensuring we stayed hydrated and energized throughout. Both the guide and the owner of the horses were incredibly friendly, empathetic, and professional. Their passion for their craft and their dedication to making us feel welcome made this one of the best experiences we had in Peru – and we tried about ten different activities during our trip! One thing to note: even for advanced riders, you might feel a little saddle sore after such long days, but that’s part of the charm. The accommodation with the Peruvian family was authentic and gave us a genuine experience of local life. It’s not luxurious – there’s no heating or high-end amenities – but stepping out of our comfort zone was exactly what we were looking for. The food prepared by the family was delicious and satisfying, adding another layer of authenticity to our adventure. It’s worth every penny to have such an extraordinary adventure without any compromises, even if you’re not an experienced rider. This was undoubtedly one of the most unforgettable experiences we’ve ever had, and we would absolutely do it again! Don’t hesitate – this is a must-do for anyone visiting Peru.

Very well organized, this stay was a very nice experience. The kindness and attention of Jarly our guide and Alejandro our driver are very much to blame. Beautiful landscapes, a very nice walk to get to the canyon (and then out) of the thermal water baths, and even a cooking class!. A successful experiment.

This was a brilliant excursion, although I was stuck 400 meters below the summit: not so much altitude sickness as lack of oxygen to walk. Although my grns was a little lower than I would like it is a fantastic experience to go to your limits. Because I don’t see depth very well in the dark, the first part, more or less horizontally over a very rocky bottom, was already quite challenging and it is dying cold in the dark. Don’t overestimate the offender either: your knees take quite a beating if you do it awkwardly. The Guide was a good coach and very knowledgeable.

We had a wonderful experience in Colca Canyon on a private guided tour and it was a fantastic discovery with Jarly as Guide and Ulises! We were really able to choose our tour and take the time where we need it! Moreover, we also organized the ascent of the Misti volcano and it was an incredible experience!!!
