Rugged Trails Nepal

We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend! My husband and I just had a short time in Kathmandu so the Valley Rim Hike was great for our time frame and to get an intro into trekking in Nepal. Looking forward to many more. All thanks to our wonderful guide, Kedar.

My girlfriend and I booked a full week of activities with Rugged Trails, including the 3-day Himal Trek and a jungle visit in Chitwan. The whole process went smoothly, and the Rugged staff were always willing to help us logistically. Also, our tour guides in the mountains and jungle were nice and patient. I highly recommend the agency if you want to book a relaxing holiday.

I don’t even know where to start… perhaps at the beginning. Booking with Rugged Trails Nepal was seamless. Though I traveled solo with him, I am confident he is equally skilled at guiding groups of up to 20 people, as he has 26 years of experience leading treks in the Himalayas. His expertise ensures that you will always be on the right path, well-fed, and warm throughout the journey. Speaking from my personal experience, this trek has left an everlasting impression on my heart. Why? Because Thakur truly understands people. He was a key factor in my “healing journey.” He instinctively knew when I needed time for myself. He arranged for me to have private rooms in tea houses, allowing me to focus on my own personal growth. During the trek, I was given the freedom to walk alone (while he stayed nearby, ensuring everything was under control), which gave me the opportunity to deeply connect with myself, nature, and the stunning surroundings. Along the way, we immersed ourselves in local traditions, explored the flora and fauna, and admired the majestic mountains, which hold a special place in my heart. Over the week, Thakur and I formed a unique bond. Upon returning to Pokhara, he even accompanied me to the temple on the lake. What touched me the most was being invited to his family’s celebration—a birthday gathering—where I experienced the warmth of his family, their traditions, and incredible food. I had a great experience with Nirajan this week! Due to scheduling, I was only able to spend 4 days in Nepal and wanted to do a short trek and a helicopter tour of EBC. Nirajan worked with me on putting together an itinerary that would work, and I was able to cross several items off my bucket list in an incredibly short period of time. He was incredibly gracious and accommodating, always checking in to make sure I had what I needed and also helping put my anxious mind at ease when it came to my travel needs. The guides on my trek were friendly and helpful and took care of me. I would absolutely recommend using Rugged Trails if you're considering a Trek!

We did 14 days annapurna foothills trek, an unforgettable experience! Why? Thanks to the quick and honest communication with Nirajan, owner of rugged trails. Thanks to the care and flexibility of our guide Shrawan and porter Prakash. Although i had a problem with my foot from the very beginning, i always felt safe in their company. They adjusted the route, where i could not descend or ascend anymore and when we were surprised by heavy rain and hailstorm, they found a nearby wonderful teahouse to spend the night.
