This was our second trek with WPP and both trips were exceptional. They are incredibly flexible to accommodate their guests’ goals. Both trips were completely different in terms of tempo, location, group size, weather, etc. and I couldn’t be happier with each experience. It was amazing how simple WPP made everything. We chose them again because they are a very safe bet that ever angle and contingency has been considered and planned for you. All of their guides are experts. My 13-year-old son and I have just returned to the US from an amazing Everest Base Camp trek. We had the good fortune of choosing Wongchuu Peak Expeditions to guide us. Not only to guide us, but to literally take care of every imaginable need that we encountered. We were referred to Wongchuu by multiple friends from Colorado who had done previous expeditions with them. They did not disappoint. While I am someone who typically likes to explore (and even climb peaks internationally) without a guide, that would have been a huge mistake for our adventure in the Himalayas. Absolutely every aspect of this trip was orchestrated in a manner that is difficult to put into words. From being picked up (at what can be an absolutely insane airport) in Kathmandu, our amazing accommodations, to the welcome dinner, the organized guided tour of Kathmandu, the flight to and from Lukla, the organizing of the best tea houses (and seamlessly changing them when our needs changed), the farewell dinner, and personalized return to the airport, we never had to lift a finger!! We had the most amazing guide (Phula) and porter that anyone could imagine. From setting a pace that was perfect for both of us (yes, my 13 year old is now a stronger hiker than his dad) to passing at least 10 people a day on the trail (and everyone in every tea house) that he knows. I am confident that these connections would make an enormous difference if a client ever found themselves in need of help in these remote (to those of us from cities) locations. Lakpa (chairperson and daughter of Wongchuu’s founder), her husband, and everyone that we worked with and encountered truly treated us like friends and family and not clients-this is not a cliche, this is what we genuinely experienced.
